Scorecard Correction
Lake Norman Tennis AssociationWe all know that it’s better to get things right the first time, but we also know that people make mistakes. When you discover a mistake in the entry of a match score, or in the player(s) entered on TennisLink, you cannot correct it yourself–you can only “dispute” the scores on TennisLink and then notify the League Coordinator via this form to make the needed changes.
In order to avoid the need for score corrections:
- Captains should print out a blank scorecard and bring it to the match.
- Players should report the scores to their captain immediately after their match is completed.
- Captains should compare scorecards after the match is completed and sign each other’s scorecard. If you cannot stay until the end, appoint someone from your team to make sure your scorecard agrees with the opponent’s.
- The players’ full names and their final match scores, including who won, must be clearly marked on your sheet. Circle the name of the winning player(s) and write the individual match scores from the winner(s)’ perspectives.
When entering scores on TennisLink, take time to check all of the names and scores before finishing. If you make a mistake, you cannot change it–only the League Coordinator can.
The winning captain typically enters the scores after the match. The non-winning captain should then go into TennisLink and confirm the scores & players for the match to ensure there were no errors. If you find an error, select the “Dispute” option.
If you make an error when entering the scores, or you “dispute” the scores, you must get confirmation from the other captain that the change needs to be made. Then, fill out all the information below and submit the information as soon as possible, but no later than one week after the match was played.
